INSIGHT by the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)
The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) and the Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (CIIP) announced today a strategic initiative aimed at fostering the growth and development of impact investing education worldwide. This initiative aims to enhance investment professionals’ knowledge and skills to help to scale the impact investing industry with integrity.
The initiative has multiple components. CIIP has awarded the GIIN grant funding to develop a foundational impact investing educational program for investment professionals, including chief investment officers, fund managers, portfolio managers and analysts. The GIIN will also develop education for corporations looking to attract impact capital; CIIP will lead the corporate education rollout in Asia.
In addition, the GIIN will work with global partners such as the CFA Society of the United Kingdom to assist in piloting impact investing accreditation programs.
To augment impact investing education curriculum around the world, the GIIN will support educators with tools including a collection of global case studies. CIIP will contribute towards identifying and developing Asian case studies to advance the understanding of business in Asia in a global context.
“We are thrilled to support the GIIN in enhancing the infrastructure for impact investing education. This initiative is both core to our mission at CIIP and is critical to accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. Asia is home to more than half of the world’s population and is projected to be the world’s fastest growing region in the coming years. We see a vast potential to unlock impact in this region by empowering business with the right skills. As the global leader in building critical infrastructure for impact investing, the GIIN is perfectly aligned with our mission to foster impact investing and practices in Asia and beyond. We look forward to working together in this pivotal moment in time.”
-Dawn Chan, CEO of CIIP
“We’re grateful to CIIP for their support. This initiative is vital for enhancing impact investing education around the world. As the field grows, it’s crucial to guide mainstream capital towards substantial, high impact solutions that address the social and environmental challenges we face. To do that, we need proper tools for the educational sector to ensure our current and future workforce are prepared for the task at hand.”
-Amit Bouri, co-founder and CEO of the GIIN
As a global field-builder for the industry, the GIIN partners with accreditation agencies and local training organizations to shape impact investing education. For more information on the initiative, please contact email@example.com.
