Consumers are able to browse and purchase products with ease, and often receive free shipping for their purchases. However, with this convenience comes a downside – a surge in the volume of returns. Retailers have responded to this issue by removing free shipping options for returns and beginning to charge fees for return shipping, which has implications not only for consumers, but also for sustainability.
